How many lease berths are there in Hamble?

Whilst the concept of buying a lease berth/mooring is well known in the Med. In the UK we are still educating boaters that there are other options to securing a marina berth than renting annually.

If you’d like to know more about what lease berths are, then click here and read this article.

The 3 MDL marinas on the River Hamble have the largest concentration of lease berths in the UK. There are 124 in total.  Triangle was involved in setting up the lease programme in 1989 and 1990. Since selling the berths initially, we have acted on each private berth owner’s behalf to sell or sublet them as their situation changes.

Each of these private lease berths is held on the UK land registry. This is why when it comes to buying a berth, the process is akin to buying a property and can take 8-12 weeks to complete.
